Inspired by the post-Pandemic Toronto music scene, Dylan Forshner went from strumming his first chords to playing his first solo show in less than a year. The only thing working faster than his music talent is his ambition. This ambition led to him not only speeding through the learning-to-walk early stages of a local music career, but also to him spear-heading a new, incredibly supportive subsection of the Toronto Music scene itself. Like the strongest songwriters, his music shines whether solo or with a band. Sure, with the band he can lean into the dynamics, but with the solo act his lyrics take on a different hue. One that invites deeper, more thoughtful listening. After higher than expected traction on Forshner’s first two single releases we now see a sophomore effort of “Under Control” an emotional acoustic song that mixes his passion for surf music with his softer indie acoustic side. Forshner plans to release multiple singles and an EP entitled Hopeless Optimism by the end of 2024. Try and keep up.
