Capitol Silent Classics
*THE LOST WORLD (1925)
Saturday, April 12, 7:00 pm

Based on the story by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, The Lost World was the special-effects spectacle of 1925.  Join Bessie Love, Lewis Stone, Wallace Beery and Lloyd Hughes as they embark on an adventure into the South American jungles, and reach a plateau with pre-historic beasts over a hundred feet high! Featuring stop motion effects by Willis O'Brien (King Kong), many of which still hold up almost 90 years later.  Featuring a specially prepared score by Dr. Philip C. Carli on the Capitol's original-installation Möller Theater Organ.

Presented in a restored 35mm print from the collection of George Eastman House.
Also, short subject Backstage with Roscoe "Fatty" Arbuckle and "Buster" Keaton, courtesy of Film Preservation Associates.
