Super Water Sympathy - Hydrogen Child

SUPER WATER SYMPATHY

...is a great, new, band that is flying just under the radar.
SWS is an "underground" band...touring and paying their dues on multiple band tours and releasing great, super watery music.
Vesper Belle was the bands first "official" release and the follow up, Hydrogen Child is garnering great press.

Vesper Belle was SWSs first release and I did plan on doing a review when the CD was first submitted to me for review but life, work and musical endeavours took precedence...anyway...Vesper Belle has a fairly unique sound and I enjoy listening to the CD whenever I find a free minute or two.
Standout tracks include Spain, Cherokee, Where Creswell Ends, Siren City and Abzu.
The music can be compared to early 80's underground new wave, think Siouxsie and the Banshees with a dash of The Smiths and The Cure tossed in.
The atmospheric presence and soaring vocals will draw you into the music after a couple of listens.

Fresh off the release of their debut album, “Vesper Belle”, and a successful ongoing nationwide tour, Louisiana natives and “Water Pop” phenomenon Super Water Sympathy have lent their writing and production skills to B.O.B’s upcoming album with the track, “Chandelier”. Super Water Sympathy’s music in their trademark self made genre “Water Pop”, described by the band as “a synthesis of classic symphonic ambience with modern ethereal anthems” has garnered major acclaims on every stop of their nationwide tour in addition to being featured heavily on the MTV series “Caged”.

Formed in 2010 and consisting of brothers Billy and Clyde Hargrove (bass and guitar, respectively), Ryan Robinson (drums), Jason Mills (keys), and Ansley Hughes (vocals), the group clicked from the start, sharing a similar vision of the sound they wanted to create. By fostering and combining their individual strengths, they’ve produced an impressionable and unforgettable music experience like no other.

After traveling and garnering acclaims nationwide, Super Water Sympathy jumped on for the Vans Warped Tour'12 after tour founder, Kevin Lyman “played the record for 30 people this week, to see if [he] was crazy to think they were so good…[he] was not.” Before hitting the road for Warped Tour in July, the band finished recording their upcoming album with Cam Blackwood (Florence and The Machine, Coldplay, Morrissey) at London’s Voltaire Road Studios.
