Superman, Showcase Presents Superman, Superman In The Seventies

Showcase Presents: Is an Grade A, excellent series and a great way to read all your favorite characters' classic stories in a condensed B&W graphic novel. Instead of paying full price for collector grade back issues DC has released the Showcase Presents series so you can read all your favorites back issues without paying an arm and a leg. The Superman Vol. 1 edition features stories from 1959-63. Other titles include Jonah Hex, Justice League of America, Metamorpho The Element Man & Green Lantern.

Superman In The Seventies is a great collection of reprinted color stories from 1970 - 1978, how can you go wrong with a forward from Christopher Reeve and a cover by Neal Adams. Highly recommended for any Superman fan.

Superman's Pal Jimmy Olsen

Bouncier Than The Beatles!
More Electrifying Than Elvis!
Go, Superman, Go! OOOEEE!
Jimmy Olsen - Guitar Player.

In October 1965, DC Comics presented "Superman's Pal," Jimmy Olsen, playing a guitar on the cover of issue Number 88. The 8-string instrument appears to be the artist's reinterpretation of a Hofner bass.
Starting in the mid-1960s, guitars became a frequent element of comics and then animated cartoons, providing the cool factor for Saturday morning shows like "The Impossibles," "Josie & The Pussycats," and "Scooby Doo." (note...that it's left-handed), and used the instrument to impart a level of rock and roll cool to the Man of Steel.
